You probably know by now that we have made a commitment to sell only American made products. There are a few exceptions where we simply had no choice, as is the case with batteries. Battery cells are no longer produced in the US. Most come from Japan or China. The same is true of a number of products including microwave ovens and many critical electronic components. In those cases where we make an exception, we will favor either Japan or Korea, both of whom have been good trading partners with the US and both have made substantial investments in the US. Other than these two very rare exceptions, we sell only American made products. So what else is different about USA Radio? Historically, we have preferred to sell products that could be easily shipped and serviced. We avoided large fixed system projects due to the problems associated with vendor instability and service requirements that would limit sales over a wide geographic area. We are changing our thinking, primarily as a result of strategic alliances with much larger companies who can compliment our current endeavors. In the past, we have been disappointed by undercapitalized companies, companies who lost their focus, and that some who were simply incapable to performing their task. This has been particularly true in the area of high tech software in the areas of computer aided dispatch, mobile data, records management, and integration of various systems to provide a complete working system. Until now, our choices were mainly those of choosing either small companies who may or may not be around tomorrow versus very large companies with pricing that was beyond the reach of our customers. Dispatch center consoles and associated items such as recorders, interoperable networks, even furniture gave us the same limited choices. When we considered automatic vehicle location systems, the problems were even greater. The life span of the typical GPS/AVL supplier seems to be about equal to that of a kamikaze pilot or a tsetse fly! We have a new channel partner (actually, several new
channel partners) that have changed our way of thinking. For the
first time, at least in our experience, there is a single source of integrated
dispatch consoles, software, and firmware that can provide a complete
solution to the needs of those we serve (primarily public safety,
healthcare, and utilities). That company is ITC
Communications. We'll be telling you more about them and what we can
do for you shortly. Copyright 2007 - USA Radios of
