In particular, our emphasis is on LTR (Logic Trunked Radio) technology that has essentially become the analog standard in the United States. There are other types of trunking protocols, but LTR is the technology of choice by American communications professionals.
As we have mentioned elsewhere, trunking has predominantly been thought of as a mobile communications technology. Today, the term is more accurately applied to personal communications. You will note that some of the reference material refers to trunking in relation to mobile radios. The point to remember is that the technology is essentially the same whether the user device is a mobile or personal communicator.
