Broadcast Applications

Broadcasters have long recognized the value of Ritron Products.  The Quick-Talk unit can instantly alert broadcast engineers when a tower light goes out.  More recently, the Quick-Talk-VS has been used to detect the presence of vehicles approaching tower site.  The new SLX radio is ideally suited for monitoring these remote sensors as well as Quick Assist units for access to limited entry areas.

Community Networks

The Community Network Program (CNP) includes the SLX as one of the devices available to those with special needs and the merchant community.  The Lone Worker feature provides the capability for a person in distress to summon assistance by just pressing a button.  An alert is sent to other SLX users.  The ID of the sending unit will be displayed on the LCD display of the receiving unit.  Of equal importance is the automatic transmit capability of the SLX.  Once the alert button is depressed, the PTT circuit is opened and keyed for a preset programmable time.  This allows the user to announce their need without depressing the PTT button.  In a serious emergency, the receiving unit can activate a "listen-in" feature that allows them to monitor the premises with no action required by the calling unit.  This can be a real life saver!

 
Firefighter Applications

Man down or man not responding are two of the most dreaded messages on a fire radio system. The SLX provides two ways to provide aid to someone in trouble.  he Lone Worker feature provides the capability for a person in distress to summon assistance by just pressing a button.  An alert is sent to other SLX users.  The ID of the sending unit will be displayed on the LCD display of the incident commander unit.  Of equal importance is the automatic transmit capability of the SLX.  Once the alert button is depressed, the PTT circuit is opened and keyed for a preset programmable time.  This allows the firefighter to announce their need without depressing the PTT button.  In a serious emergency, the incident commander  can activate a "listen-in" feature that allows them to monitor the area with no action required by the calling unit.  This can be a real life saver!  The SLX is IP54 certified which means it is suitable for use in wet environments and Unit ID displayed on supervisory units provides additional administrative benefits.

 
Golf Courses

The benefits of wireless communications are well known by golf course administrators.  Ritron Outpost 2-way call boxes on the 9th hole pay for themselves with additional F&B revenues plus providing emergency calling capability for players.  Quick-Assist one way calling units allow players to request assistance in the pro shop or at the cart rental area, but the big news is the SLX!  For the first time, a single affordable radio can be used for Administration, F&B, Maintenance and Security.  No longer is it necessary to use a special keypad radio for sprinkler control.  The SLX can provide up to 60 DTMF on/off codes with no keypad required!  The special hot keys used in conjunction with the channel selector provide almost limitless capability.
